The recent updates locked all the practice melodies I used to get a general understanding of playing the uke. I don't want to pay a hefty price for premium. I would like to use the app just to do basic practice and finger excerises. Unfortunately with the recent updates this is not possible anymore. This makes the app not motivating to me anymore.

The idea is really good. Starting to learn is easy and fun. Unfortunately, you don't get past learning how to tune and simple fingerpicking unless you buy the subscription. That's very disappointing and misleading as the description reads differently. That's why I uninstalled the app again shortly after installing it.

If you already experience with instruments, this app can get you started pretty quickly. It's best feature is its predefined path of pieces to play, along with basic instructions. The automatic recognition of played notes is pretty goody but far from perfect - some notes are missed, some are recognized despite not being played. What really annoys me though, is the in part arbitrarily seeming placement of notes or chords of some songs. For complex songs on non-expert levels, they don't make sense
