In general the concept if the app is nice, but for this version to learn Japanese it has 2 major problems, which have nothing to do that I tested the free version. 1st, most of the words taught are not very interesting or relevant, and as many modern English words are very similar adapted sounding in Japanese you don't feel like you really learn Japanese words. I do not need or want to learn words like hotdog, hamburger or fast-food when it comes to food and realize that they almost sound the same. There are no typical Japanese food words in there. At least not in the first 2 sections. Usually you learn the language together with the culture, but this app seems just to be tailored from English speakers to an western (American?) society. Same goes for many other topics. I've been to Japan a couple of times and have a good feeling of what kind of words would be usefull to know there. 2nd problem, if you are already advanced in your Kana and switch to Kanji display, you solemnly rely on the audio to learn the proper pronunciation. It would be very helpful to have the additional Kana above the Kanji characters optional.

Hi Jan, Thanks for your feedback and suggestion. We are definitely planning to add additional Kana above the Kanji characters. We would really appreciate if you could send us more examples of the words to support@languagedrops.com. Thanks for your cooperation and assistance!

I really love studying with this app. It's so easy and helps you connect the words with images instead of your primary language so your brain gets trained to think in (this case) Japanese! Even using it for only 5 minutes helps improve your vocabulary so much! There is only one wish I have: The vocabulary about religion is really scarce, yet I believe it is important to be able to talk about this too, especially for someone like me, who lives in Kyoto. Overall a great app for all learners!

I really love this app. The content and the style is amazing. I do think that 5 minutes a day are quite short, but this motivates you to keep going everyday. But after the last update, I can't deactivate the sound if a want to hear the pronunciation. That is really annoying!!! I want to learn new words and don't want to be sidetracked by this horrible noise! Please fix this, because it's impossible to focus on learning!
