Never before have I experienced a story quite like Penrose. Non-linearity is the centrepiece of this game - both in its story and gameplay mechanics and I really enjoyed this synergy of form and content. Especially when I finally managed to turn off my default completionist and analytic gaming mindset and just let the story flow and twist and fold on itself while breathing in the strange, slightly unnerving atmosphere. Really brilliant piece of art.

Beautiful twists and turns, hopping back and forth between stories trying to get things straight only to realize you accidentally unlocked something else… started on the web version and was very glad to see that there was an option to start off from where the demo left off. Definitely need some time to mull over what all just happened…

Disappointing. While the storytelling concept is one-of-a-kind, the actually story can be difficult to follow. As you navigate the story, it seems the characters are uncovering a mystery. Well, clearly everything will be explained at the end, right?.....right??? NO!!! IT JUST ENDS!!! I can't even remember what the last "move" was but it suddenly changed the screen to "the end" or something! WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MACHINE?! THE SIBLINGS?! ALL THOSE GHOSTS?! Again, very disappointing.
